Membership Types

Membership Requirements

The Topeka Bar Association membership year runs from April 1 to March 31. Any lawyer or member of the
judiciary in good standing as a member of the bar of a state, territory or possession of the United States,
may become an active member of the Topeka Bar Association by paying annual dues.

Any lawyer upon attaining the age of 75 years, who is or has been a member of the  Association, may elect not to pay dues.  Please let the Topeka Bar Association Office know if you elect to not pay dues.

Membership Types Available

Admitted to the Bar more than 5 years - $125 Attorneys or judges in public service - $94
Admitted to the Bar 5 years or less - $100

Associate Member - $50

Any lawyer in good standing as a member of the bar of a state, territory or possession of the United State, who is not a resident of, and whose employer or law firm has no offices in Shawnee County, Jackson County, Jefferson County, Wabaunsee County or Osage County, may become a (non-voting) member of the Association.

Emeritus Member - $50

Any lawyer in good standing who has voluntarily taken inactive status with the Kansas Supreme Court or any bar of a state, territory or possession of the United States and is no longer actively engaged in the practice of law may become a (non-voting) member of the Association.

Newly admitted - No charge for the first year of membership

Law students - No charge
